The Fighter

The Fighter Rated R  Rated 13s
The Fighter follows the true story of a
boxing fighter named Micky who is trained by his older brother, Dicky, a retired boxer who knocked out Sugar Ray Leonard (although it is not clear whether he really did, or if Sugar Ray slipped) and is a crack addict. Micky's mother is his manager, and his whole family is messed up. His father and his girlfriend try to persuade him to choose another offer that is way better. In a way, you want Micky to stay with his family, because Dicky is played in a way that's very likable, but, on the other hand, you want Micky to do the other offer, because it's a better offer. This movie is an amazingly acted, gripping, and sad movie. In my opinion, it is the best movie of the year. Christian Bale (Dicky) is excellent, and made it so at the end of the movie, when it showed the real guys, I immediately knew which one was which. Melissa Leo (the mother) was also excellent in it. Even Amy Adams (Micky's girlfriend) was really amazing in this. There was not one actor in this who was bad. There were many inappropriate scenes in this film, including at bars, showing people smoke crack, swearing, (many f words) boxing violence, a scene where they get into a fight with the police, and even inappropriate scenes in beds. But, by the time you're 13, I think you should be able to see it (although the rating R was a good rating. This movie is definitely a positively To See: That is the answer.
