Coen Brothers Movies Ranked

Coen Brothers Movies Ranked
The Coen Brothers are some of the smartest directors, and here are my reviews
of their films.

1. Barton Fink
This is definitely their most underrated film, but it is excellent. It starts off pretty slow, but it gets better as it goes along. It has some of the greatest acting by John Turturro and John Goodman. And plus, the story is fantastic. If you're tired of seeing predictable plots, this is the movie To See: That is the answer.
The Great Scene: (Warning: Some minor language)

2. Fargo
Most people call this their greatest film. It's one of the grossest, after No Country, but it has excellent acting from Frances McDormand, and the story is fantastic. This is a funnier drama than their other ones. To See. That is the answer.
The Great Scene (Warning: Some sexual references)

3. No Country For Old Men
One of the greatest movies ever. This is the Coen Brothers most violent film, but it's one of their best. The acting in this is fantastic, and so is each scene in it. It's one of the most suspenseful movies I've ever seen in my entire life. Javier Bardem is the creepiest sociopath you'll ever see. To See: That is the answer.
The Great Scene:

4. Miller's Crossing
The Coen Brothers' gangster movie is excellent, with double crossing, great acting, and an excellent plot. A must-see. The use of music is excellent in this film. To See: That is the answer.
The Great Scene: (Warning: very upsetting... SPOILER ALERT)

5. The Big Lebowski
This movie is hilarious. John Goodman plays the funniest character in the whole world. Hysterical. You will quote the lines from this movie for the rest of your life. To See: That is the answer.
The Great Scene: (Warning: A ton of bad language)

6. Burn After Reading
This is hilarious! Fantastic performances from Brad Pitt and Frances McDormand. J.K. Simmons is hilarious, too. It's a must-see if ou want to see John Malchovich's face get as red as an apple. The funniest movie of the decade. To see: That is the answer.
The Great scene: (Warning: Will not be able to breath from laughter)

7. Blood Simple
The Coen brothers' first film is a masterpiece. It has the same type of suspense as No Country, but it's not as violent. It's very quiet, and very good. The dialogue is very realistic. To See: That is the answer.
There isn't a specifically good scene, so here's the trailer:

8. O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Hysterical film. It's very weird but very good. Excellent music and beautiful scenery. It's also probably their most appropriate movie. It's based on The Odyssey, but very loosely. To See: That is the answer.
The Great Scene:

9. The Man Who Wasn't There
Fantastically shot, black and white film with one of the greatest endings of all time. It would be slightly better if it was cast differently (because I don't like Billy Bob Thornton), but other than that, it's amazing. To See: That is the answer.
There isn't a specifically good scene, so here's the trailer:

10. Raising Arizona
I think the only reason I put this so far down the list is because its overrated. Other than that, it's great. It's probably Nicholas Cage's best performance, and Holly Hunter is hysterical in it. To See: That is the answer.
The Great Scene: (Warning: Some language, but not that bad)

 11. True Grit
It has great acting, but it's nothing compared to their other films. Most people (including me) find this better than the original John Wayne film, but they definitely could've done more with it. To See: That is the answer.
There isn't a specifically good scene, so here's the trailer:

12. The Hudsucker Proxy
It's not that this movie is bad, it's just bad compared to their other films. It's a little funny now and then, and it has a fantastic cast. It's just they could have made this amazing, and they didn't. Not to See: That is the answer.
The Great Scene:
