The Ides of March

The Ides of March  Rated R
The Ides of March is about Stephen Meyers, (Ryan Gosling) a man
who works for a candidate for governor of Ohio, Mike Morris (George Clooney). One day, he is supposed to meet Tom Duffy, (Paul Giamatti) a man who works for the candidate running against Morris. He tells Steven that he hired someone named Thomson, (Jeffrey Wright) to endorse in his campaign. Apparently, Thomson is very likable, so Stephen knows that this could mean that Morris will lose. Then, Tom tells Steven that he wants to join their side. When Stephen tells his boss, Paul (Phillip Seymour Hoffman), Paul tells a Time Magazine reporter, Ida (Marisa Tomei) who threatens to publish the story. Afterwards, Paul fires Stephen for not being loyal. So Stephen decides to accept the offer from Tom. At the same time, Steven is going out with an intern named Molly (Evan Rachel Woods) who, as Stephen later finds out, has been sleeping with Morris, and she is pregnant with Morris' baby. Before Stephen is fired, he secretly gives Molly the money for an abortion. But now that he is fired, he may or may not publicly tell about the baby. The Ides of March is a clever story with superb acting from Ryan Gosling, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Marissa Tomei, Paul Giamatti, and George Clooney. I was at the edge of my seat from start to finish. It is a must-see thriller that really makes you think about what the moral thing to do is. To See: That is the answer.
I couldn't find the greatest scene on YouTube, so here's the trailer:
